The Swatch TTR Tour contests in January will be off the hook as the battles to be Tour Champion go into overdrive. With the 6Star Nissan X-Trail Jam and Roxy Chicken Jam Europe over all attention now shifts to the upcoming competitions in January.
The 6Star O’Neill Evolution at Davos, Switzerland will kick off the New Year on January 5th – 10th 2009. Following this, Laax, Switzerland hosts the 6Star Burton European Open on January 9th – 16th, 2009. This is one of the world’s most prestigious snowboarding events and with a massive 10th birthday celebration planned it is going to be one to remember. January 31st Innsbruck, Austria, will again be rocked by the spectacular 6Star Billabong Air & Style. A contest that is bound to see rivals go head to head in the electrifying, crowded battleground, the Olympic ski-jump “Bergisel”.
On January 7th – 14th 2009, China will get its shred on when it hosts the 4Star Redbull Nanshan Open in Beijing. In the seventh year now this contest pushes snowboarding in China and always delivers a high level contest. Snowboarders will also be fighting it out in Russia for the 4Star BGV Fest in Magnitogorsk January 29th – 31st 2009; an event which steps up its game every year and gives Russian snowboarders a chance to showcase their skills.
Over stateside in the USA the 3Star Burton AM Series Contests will be going down at Northstar and Bear Mountain in California, Keystone in Colorado and Snoqualmie in Washington. These events provide a platform for American groms to gain valuable TTR ranking points and are breeding grounds for future superstars. Throughout January we will also see four more 3Star events going down around the world: EXR he Snowboard Tour in Korea, the Revolution Tour in Colorado, USA, the Chill and Destroy Tour in Austria and the Protest World Rookie Fest in Italy.
