38. With 2012 around the corner, is the Olympics something you see yourself pursuing? If it is do you take each day for what it's worth or do you map out a plan to achieve your goal? from: Tony HoffmanI am specifically going to a college in an area that allows me to pursue my goal of the 2012 Olympics...so I would say it's HIGH on my priority list. Obviously when you're striving for such lofty goals, a plan does need to be set. However, I believe a grand plan should be broken down so that you can enjoy each day for what it's worth. If you're not enjoying what you're doing most of the time, you probably won't stick through the grand plan. I enjoyed my high school life and sport and i am also going to enjoy the college life...all while i am still going for the 2012 olympics!! |

37. I have noticed you talk about god with donny in his questions and answers.. Can you explain what your relationship with god is like and how it has a direct effect to your racing? from: Tony Hoffmani don't really remember talking about god with donny, but since you're wondering...when I can't handle things, I let him... |

36. What really attracted you to bmx ? and what keeps you going ? from: nikozgMy brother actually got me into it, and I ended up thinking it was cool because it "made me a tough girl". i always wanted to be like the boys so it was a perfect fit. I love the competition and just riding my bike FAST while doing jumps. I think the traveling and friends around the world has really kept me interested in this specific sport though. |

35. Every athlete has their little routines that they go through before a race. What are some of the dumb things that you have to do before a race to get prepared? from: Tim Dingerwell there is this ridiculous looking warm-up that some kid from australia showed me that surprisingly works well. I can't explain it, you'll just have to look for my secret, hidden warm up spot at the next race lol. I also never sleep next to windows in hotels at races. I have these weird thoughts that something bad is going to happen to me if i am sleeping in the closest bed to the window...i'm odd. =] |
34. Have you ever been to Croatia ? from: nikozgyeah that's my favorite place to go...besides lincoln, nebraska. haha jk no i have never been there. |
33. Hey Alise. What do you do to train? from: Madison HauptTraining is pretty much the same general idea with everybody. The usual sprints, squats, ride ALOT, and of course eat three pieces of toast with raw egg on them everyday for breakfast while holding your breath and tugging on your left ear. i'm jk...scratch that last part haha, but the sprints, squats, and ride a lot for sure. |
32. who is ur biggest fan? ;) haha. it is a stupid question but o well haha. from: Patty Richobvi pedalin' patty =] |
31. how much do your bikes weight? from: Derek Harlfinger #800some people who are crazy on weight...like people with about the same size bikes, get their bikes to weigh around 18 lbs...i am not so much considered with weight as i am safety so my bike is in the 19 lbs. range i believe. but 18-20lbs is pretty average i would say. |

30. i hear you are almost as good as dawny robensen (sp?) at gymnastics. how has gymnastics helped your racing though? from: Donny Robinsonhaha yeah...almost. lol. But anyways, I feel that gymnastics has helped me incredibly with racing. A few years ago a doctor told a friend of mine that all parents that think their child will become an athlete, should start their kids in gymnastics at a young age. It helps develop so many minor muscles not usually focused on and also makes a person very agile. My success in all athletics I believe is somewhat due to my gymnastics background. How else could I show up to races throughout the winter when I was younger, not ever riding my bike in between, and still manage good results? Gymnastics is so physically demanding..it keeps you well conditioned, flexible, and agile. I also have to admit it's saved me from a lot of injury..doing flips, learning air sense, and gaining body awareness will all teach you how to crash/bail. (the tuck and roll is key!! haha) It also takes a lot of guts to do gymnastics. You do a lot of scary things defying all laws of physics, and I think that has a lot to do with my "no fear" attitude. So as you can see, I appreciate my gymnastics, as I'm sure you did also "dawny". =] |

29. Girl you are BMX! Being one of your biggest fans I follow you as much as I can coverage wise (thank god for the internet). Just wondering how do you handle being a HUGE icon? Your so mellow, do you ever just sit back and ponder the whole scene? from: SIBMXhaha well thank you! i have to say i never really think of myself that way. To me i'm just another kid, always just trying my best to be doing the right things and setting a good example for others. I tend to be so busy with everything in life i never just get to sit back!! But i must say, the few times I have thought about the "whole scene"...I'm a pretty lucky gal. |
28. do you do any freestyle BMX? from: JaredI've never really had the time to get involved with the freestyle side of bmx because most of my time outside racing has been spent at track&field or in the gymnastics room...(you'd think my gymnastics could apply to my bike though huh? lol) |
27. you know any good tracks in NY? from: SpencerI actually have never gotten the chance to race in new york..but on www.ababmx.com there is a list of all the tracks and i'm pretty sure there's some good ones in new york. check it out =] |
26. Anyone ever told you that you look like Kelly Clarkson? from: Josh Pattoncan't say i have...but i'll take that as a compliment?? lol |
25. How is the best way to get over the fear of crashing? Also what drives you to do your best each time?
Thanks and good luck you rock!!! from: Jeffrey Wayne ( J-Dub )Like I said about jumping, you just kind of have to not think about it. If you think about the negatives, the worst is going to happen. If you think of the positives, you're only going to improve. Crashing crosses my mind sometimes but then usually when i'm that nervous someone is telling me i am a wuss and i have to prove them wrong and i just go for it! haha. I guess my competitive nature of wanting to win overpowers my fears. That's why I always want to do my best as well...I love to win =] especially at something I've dedicated so much of my life to. |
24. have you ever came to atlanta georgia and for what from: Chandler Dentonyes twice actually. once for the NCAA gymnastics championships and one time to race there. |
23. I see you in a lot of pictures in magazines and you are an amazing jumper! How long did it take for you to overcome that fear of jumping? Also do you have any tips that you can tell me about jumping? Thank you! from: B!NK$haha well thank you..that's taken a lot of work. i haven't always been known to be the best jumper but just riding a lot and practicing it more and more has made me a better jumper. I have always been a daredevil and have always kind of had the "just do it" attitude. I generally just don't think about it....just go for it! haha...sometimes that isn't always smart either though! lol but yeah my biggest advice is just not to think about it too much because you'll psych yourself out...go for the small stuff and work your way to bigger jumps. the more you do it, whether its up curbs or on 30ft gaps, you're going to get better. |
22. Dear Beast, which direction do you like to beast most? Right or Left? from: Arielle Martindear arielle, i tend to appreciate the side with a softer landing and of course i like going the way that will "benefit" me most lol...but not too much of that going on lately huh?? |
21. What have you been doing to stop riding "Buck Wild" and looping out? from: Sut'Dogjust riding a lot more and getting more in control. |
20. What's on the typical Alise Post Ipod playlist? from: trio951I listen to a little bit of everything to tell you the truth. However, usually I am jamming to the latest hits (rap/hip-hop) you're hearing on the radio at that time. Recently I've become addicted to the Miley Cyrus version(yeah yeah i know) of Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and i would like to make that my time trial song for racing. You should listen to it, it's good. =] |

19. I need a new race bike, but I'm fairly new to racing. Should I get a GT or Haro? Is it personal preference or is there a major difference between them both? from: VansSE2Obviously, I am biased and am going to tell you that you should get a Redline bike =] But really, it's all personal preference. There are definitely differences in bikes but when you're just getting into it, you're going to get used to whatever you choose to ride. I do want to let you know that Redlines are known to be simple geometry easy for ALL types of riders to ride. So being a new rider, this simple geometry will probably make learning the basics a little bit easier/quicker process. |
