17. What is the best thing about being a pro surfer?
We finally got swell around Saturday. Its been fun, about waist-chest high and I think tomorrow more will be filling in. So other than the bad weather its fun!
14. if new smyrna or cocoa is your spot, is Daytona the ghetto?
Only when it was half dead...im not as talented but in Oklahoma people do "noodling"
12. i race BMX and i dont really know that much about surfing! LOL!
so how do the rounds work? how many rounds do u do till the mains? how does it work lol!?!
We have a setup of four people in a thing called a "heat." The heats generally last 20 minutes and are judged on top 2 waves and you can catch 10 waves maximum in that time. A final usually lasts a little longer like 25-30 minutes. The top two people advance to the next round. Depending on how many are entered in the event is how many rounds there will be.
When im not surfing, besides living at my job (waitressing) Im usually cruising around town on my bike, bronzing, people watching, fishing or going to the gym. Since the waves are not so good most of the year ive taken up spinning classes 3 times a week which is pretty fun.
6. Who is the best female surfer in the world and why?
Well I kind of grew up all over the East Coast and moved to Cocoa Beach when I was 14. Since ive lived in FLorida the best things have to be the fishing, laid back lifestyle, southern food and of course FLorida's Finest (the entertaining people). So far the best waves I have gotten were in either South Africa or Puerto Rico, but I hope to go to Indo someday..because I have a feeling that could be the best!
4. who is the most influential surfer for you...and why?
Well thank you for the compliment first off :) Ive taken up spinning classes 3 times a week so that probably helps with staying fit and im a vegetarian so that cuts out alot of things as well. Not doing drugs is also key!
In Florida, I would say the inlets are always most consistent. It just kinda depends on the swell direction and winds. In the world, my favorite place I have surfed was Middles, Puerto Rico.
1. How much do you love your life being a pro surfer??
I love it more than anything! As of right now its kinda tough not having a main sponsor...but I work a job full time to save up money for next year and when im not working im surfing or going to the gym so its good good :)
