Well, another question, have you ever been in Holland, we're the only country who kinda copied the track of Beijing:P from: Jelle WillemsNope, I have never been to Holland but I would like to someday! I currently have the Beijing replica track here in my backyard at Chula Vista, its pretty sweet. |
No I mean if you're going to win gold or silver? from: Jelle WillemsHa ha, well in that case GOLD! |
What is your favorite track? from: Josh PattonHonestly its not just because I live here, but I have to say Chula Vista. I never get sick of riding it, always a fun time. |
How do you deal with nerves before a big moto? How about a signed photo of my fav pro? from: BullettrainI have learned to use my "nerves" as an advantage before a race, to get me excited. So far its worked out alright! Email me your address and I'll get something off to ya |

What got you into BMX, and what do you think could be done to make BMX better for girls to stick around once they've tried it? from: BikemonkeysMy dad raced BMX in the late 80's and I used to go watch him race and it looked so fun! For girls its tough to stick in BMX sometimes for a few reasons 1) Once girls get 15 or 16 and discover cars, shopping, and boys, bmx just doesn't take priority over being girly unless they have some motivation and 2) the sanctions don't put as much effort into promoting the girl pros like they do the guys so its hard to find sponsorship and get to races. When younger girls see the older girls struggling like that it makes it hard. So in answer to your question there isn't much you can do about girls wanting to do girl things instead of BMX, but if sanctions, sponsors and the girls themselves put in more effort to the womens program I think the younger generations would be more excited to stick around. |

Ari, We miss you here in Michigan. What are your plans in the future? Much love to Mike as we don't get to talk to him as often. Love the pics, they are all you! from: DeannaHaha sorry I have been so bad about returning emails and messages. Glad you caught me here.. My plans are to continue racing! I still love the sport and have no intentions of retiring anytime soon. Mike will be home in December and we will probably head back to Tennessee for a little while, so i'll be back shreddin Music City BMX. |
Which means more to you, winning the grands or the title? from: Josh PattonTitle for sure. |
What about Beijing?
1st or 2nd place? from: Jelle WillemsNot sure I understand the question... but I think you mean in regards to selection to go? I am 2nd place right now in points, currently the alternate to go. |

Whats was your worse injury? Do you ever get nervous on a track that you may get hurt or do you just try to put that thought out of your head? from: ScottWorst injury was probably my lacerated liver or fractures in my spine, but the one that took the longest to rehab way my acl. Keep in mind i have been racing 18 years, 7 of which as a pro so my injured/non-injured ratio is pretty good. You are right about not thinking of getting hurt when you ride, my head has to be clear so I can focus on what I am doing without holding back for fear of getting hurt. |
After the Olympics are you going to be doing the ABA circuit and try for a title? Are you going to hit up the NBL for the following season? from: bmx14yrsI would like to make another run at the ABA title, yes, and probably NBL next year as well. |
Why was kathy lee such a wimp on the today show? Lame! from: Pete: Go211 Tech TeamHaha, I don't know, maybe you should ask her! She was pretty stressed out about messing up her hair with the helmet and I think when Hoda crashed, she was over it. Good times though.... |
being a 'girl' that rips, do you catch grief from guys who are jealous that "a girl can kick their butts"? from: brent.bartonI did when I was younger, but now that I am pro most guys shut up about it! I remember being 11 or 12 though and making boys cry when I beat them, not gonna lie, it was kind of fun! |
Are you wearing Vans clipless? from: brent.bartonI have some prototypes that I am testing out right now... |
what other sports do you do? from: Air & StyleI love anything outdoors and I don't play well with team sports! So that leaves things like snowboarding, wakeboarding, longboarding (I like boards) hiking, racquetball, motorcycles, quads, rock climbing... yea basically if its outside and extreme I'm into it. |
What's your favorite type of Sushi roll? :) from: brent.bartonOOOOO, um I actually don't like Sushi at all. It's unfortunate I know, and it's not from lack of trying it. I just can't seem to enjoy it. I blame it on watching the Little Mermaid too much when I was younger and developing attachments to sea creatures. |
Where do I submit my application to become president of the Arielle Martin fan club? ;-) from: GalloI would try Utahbmx.com.:) I hear they are taking applications! |
Looking forward to the 2012 Olympics, who do you think will be a contender for the USA? from: Big KnobbyFor the Men... DenZEEEIL Stein, David Herman, Nic Long, Kris Fox... all those dudes handle the SX course already and can only improve. For the women Alise of course, Amanda if she's still riding and maybe Kristen Long if she will be old enough, I hear she has been jumping like a guy lately... oh and i'm not ruling myself out yet either! |
So do you still have a chance to be on the Olympic team, even with your crash in china? from: wannaBMXerUnfortunately for me that crash knocked me off the top of the points board for the US Olympic rankings. So as of right now Jill has the slot, but nothing is for sure yet, I am on the Olympic Long team and am going to continue training at the center until the games. Not all of the country slots have been announced yet either so keep your fingers crossed that we get two girls. |
How do you ensure that you have energy to train?
What is your favorite training food? from: BridgetIts pretty tough, I sleep a good 9 hrs a night and sometimes I take a mid-day power nap between training sessions. As for my favorite training food? Can't go wrong with a nice salad, whole wheat pasta and some grilled chicken breast with veggie... I have a cool sister-in-law that cooks great training food. :) |
Do you have any pets? from: mikecapNo, but in our apartment at the OTC Jill is creating a woodland forest of pets out of sticky notes, does that count? |
