17. During a race, what do you think is your strongest section? Gates, jumps, rhythm etc.?
from: Codey
For me its the jumps, you tend to be good at what you like I suppose ;)

16. what is your best advice for coming back from injury? just had my knee scoped and a tendon in my ankle reattatched. When you coming back to the UT?
from: dajama5
Work as hard as they will let you in physical therapy and dont let yourself get bummed. You will be surprised to find how far you can push your limits. Getting your range of motion back should be first priority! I will probably make a stop back home to UT for the holidays, i'm pretty booked until then.

15. Have you ever track ridden platform peddles
from: gomarkgo
I try to ride flats 75% of the time in my sprints and about 50% of the time on the track. Obviously on a SX track the speeds are a little fast for flats so I stick to clips but normal tracks I actually prefer to ride flat pedals. Its good for skills and works different muscles in the legs.

14. What other sports have you played before you got into riding?
from: Tim Dinger
I started racing when I was five and turned pro at 15 so I didn't have a whole lot of time for other sports. Tried church basketball but kept getting fouled out before halftime so then I went for volleyball but got dismissed one game for throwing the ball at a girls head, I guess you could say I don't do well with team sports. I shred my snowboard as much as I can in the winter, if I ever quit BMX I am headed straight to boardercross, also love to wakeboard, surf and longboard.

13. do you have elbows like razors?
from: Chad DeGroot
Double edge razor blades, I sharpen them every night before bed.

12. How old were you when you took the training wheels off your bike?
from: Loreo316
I don't remember training wheels.... parents say I was 2 1/2

11. If you ever have Kids are you going to have them Race? And BTW we are Proud of you. Bailey says hi!!!
from: ahauber
I'll let my future kids do whatever they want, if that happens to be bmx then great... just as long as its not baton twirling I think I can support 'em.

10. Arielle-Congrats on your finish at the worlds. What's it like racing against international competition?
from: Go211_Billy
Thanks! Racing internationally is a blast, the talent pool is so much deeper than here in the states. There are a lot of really skilled girls out there pushing the bar, it just makes me more motivated to be a better rider.

9. I was wondering what your all-time favourite track to ride is? Secondly, what was the harderst track you've ever raced?
from: Luke Martin
My favorite is the Chula Vista track, I never get sick of riding it. The hardest track would have to be Copenhagen this year, technical second straight with a tricky first corner made for a lot of WORK to get through it.

8. What is the best part of being a pro BMX Racer?
from: Mike Losness
Traveling the world, it has given much an opportunity to see places I never would have otherwise seen and on someone else's dime makes it even better!

7. This is more of a comment than question. I remember reading about you and your husband in the NY Times last year. I pray he made it home from Afghanistan safely. Thank him for serving.
from: edmartin3
He made it home safe and sound last December, thanks for asking ;)

6. Just wanted to start of by telling you that I think you are a unbelievable racer who is a wonderful role model for those who race, as well as those who do not. We all know that you've had your fair share of injuries...What keeps you motivated to keep pushing through the pain to get back on the bike?
from: Lisa Masterson
Injury is a part of sport, a sometimes consequence of taking the necessary risks to improve. I thrive off of pushing my own limits to see how far I can go and when that gets taken away from me due to an injury or something, it just fires me up to get back on the bike stronger. Fighting through the pain is no big deal when I know what the reward will be in the end...

5. Hi Arielle, This is Becky from the Girl's Clinic at SeaTac. Thanks for taking the time to work with us and help us improve. I loved that the class was all girls. Oh, and awesome job @ the Worlds and the SLC Nationals, the week or so before.
from: bmxfamily5
Thanks Becky, I am glad you learned some new stuff. Hope your keeping on it!

4. can you do a tail whip?
from: josh
No, unfortunately I am not that cool :) I did learn backflips at Woodward West in 2004 but havent had much time for ramps since then.

3. When do you think the best time to turn pro is? Like when you can beat 5-10 people in that class then progress and get faster. Or wait till you can beat about half of them and make it to a main 75% of the time?
from: Josh Patton
It depends on what your goals are as a pro. If you have plans to make it to the top AA its good to have some success as an amateur, winning mains as an expert so you know what what it takes. On the other hand if your just bored racing am then turn pro understanding you may be moto fill for a little while. I have seen people be successful at both, its just a little harder the latter way.

2. Dear Arielle, I've been a huge fan of yours ever since August 2005. You are such a Champ!! I've been wondering, do you get to design your own race gear? or is it just chance that you always look so hot? Can't wait to hear from you!!! -rali jo
from: rali
Rali- It would be sick if I could design my own race gear, but I have "people" that take care of that ;) fortunately they do a pretty good job making me look good in their duds. Has it really been 4 years? PS I always check my mattress when I go to hotels now, just so you know.

1. So Arielle how excited were you when you won your medal? You looked pretty happy.
from: Patty
Very happy, especially considering the weekend started out really rough for me. I have always seemed to draw bad luck at the Worlds, but this year bad luck turned good in the end as I found a way to put it all behind me. I rode my own race, controlled what I could control, and came out third. I'll take it!
