I train, work around my garden, snorkel, catchup on mail. just do things that I don't do when the waves are pumping.

I do a lot of surfing of course. The most important thing to me is core stabilization exercises, strengthening all the core muscles and cardio. I maintain a healthy diet also.

I would say drowning is number one. Getting run over by another surfer, hitting the reef, and then sharks.

It is a great way to communicate with other athletes in extreme sports. It is a great way to put yourself out there.

Yes my spirits are up. I am hoping to be in top form at the Maui event and feeling a bit better each day.

4-6 foot velzy land with my best friends in the line up with dead winds. Medium tide and we wouldn't have to ride anything but shortboards because the waves were so perfect. I would have Rochelle, Sofia, Serena, and Coco Ho out there with me! There would be a refreshment bar in the channel and music pumping all day long... A dream for sure! We would surf and sit on water bar stools, eat lunch and surf more!

It is always inspirational having events with the men because they are so talented and amazing to watch. But, at the same time, we usually aren't the priority therefore we don't always get the ideal waves. But I love having events with them cause it spices it up. Oh, and the guys are funny too!

Some house music - gabrielle & dresden for example. Lots of Yellowcard, Dave Matthews, Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah. I love everything, but because I have been competing my music has been quite amping. I love house for surfing though.

Women wear female board shorts! Nah just joking - instead of me being the only girl in the lineup, there are now at least 20. There are also entire labels and brands geared towards women - we now have our own identity and sport. Female surfers can make a living and life of this sport - it is much more professional now!
