My biggest influences are Occy, Rob machado, Mick Fanning and Parko. I feel Occy and Machado have such great styles and no other surfers compare to their approach on a wave and mick and Joel are such gifted competitors. They know how to make heats and their surfing is also amazing.

I have lots of favorite artists each for different reasons. I like the classics of Picasso and Guigan. The impressionists took alot of risk with their styles for the period they were painting in. I like thomas campbell because he is so creative with his ideas and his lines.

I enjoy going on photo trips way more because the waves are always better. It seems the water is normally warmer and just really fun trips in general. Doing contests are great but traveling half way across the world to lose or only get shitty waves can be hard to get motivated about.

The best thing to happen in surfing is the invention of the thruster and Kelly Slater winning 9 world titles.
