4. give me the sensation in fine detail of riding a beutiful wave then it starts to surround and almost overtake you you what would you do now? from: SpencerI heard a really good quote from Danny Way. he said "I have never had a bad wipe out on a ramp and then looked up to see the whole ramp coming down on top of me." Thats really one of the major differences about surfing. the ocean is always moving and you are really battling nature in big surf like Hawaii. When It big over there and the whole wave is looking to come down on you there really isnt much you can do. The best thing and also the hardest thing is to just relax. you can try and swim as hard as you want to get to the surface but your not going to over power a big wave. all you are doing is wasting your breath. At the same time thats what I really like. you have to almost enter into a zin like mindset and just relax. As they say you have to be a waterman, and that takes years of experience. I hope that answers your question |

3. Best and worst thing about being a Pro? from: ThorpeTravel and traveling. Its a catch 20 2. I love getting to go to some of the best spots on the planet to surf and compete. But the flip side is im gone about 10 months out of the year so that can be tough with my personal life. Lots of skype and emails. I miss the family and friends. But once Im home for a bit im always itching to get back on the road. |

2. Do you think having a an airbrush on your board helps or hurts you in a contest. Does it mess with the way you look on a wave to the judges? from: Mike LosnessI think if your whole board is a bright spray you really have to surf well because you stand out that much more. so if your surfing bad its really going to show, if your surfing good though judges wont miss it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

1. Hey NAte What up? Hey Where is your favorite stop on the WQS tour? from: Mike LosnessI would probably say australia. First off the waves are sick there. Second the people are really cruisey, and obviously they speak english so its not a hassle to communicate. I also enjoy europe!!!!!! good coffee and good bakeries. |
