| 5. What do people consider greatest accomplishment and what do you consider your greatest accomplishment? from: Tricia ByrnesI'd say people definitely think winning the gold in 2002 is my biggest accomplishment. I'd also say that winning the gold was my biggest accomplishment. Some other events during my snowboard career that were huge for me were winning the Bronze in 98, Winning the US Open in 99 and 03 and winning double gold at the 98 X-Games in Pipe and Slope Style. |
| 4. How has you perspective changed on the Olympics since winning the
Bronze medal and then since winning the Gold medal? from: Tricia ByrnesThe 98 Olympics were cool and winning the bronze was awesome. But snowboarding was kind of put to the side and the media didn't understand it. We even competed in the rain which was kind of crazy. In 2002 the Olympic were amazing for me. The weather was great, I loved the pipe and my family was there. Everything worked out for me that day and snowboarding seemed to be brought to a new level. |
| 3. Who are your influences? from: Tricia ByrnesMy influences are the athletes coming up, ruling it and changing the sports like Tiger Woods, Labron James, James Stewart and Shawn White. Also the athletes before them that were on top, still rip and are doing good things for there sports like Tony Hawk and Rick Carmichael. |
| 2. What would you change about the progression of snowboarding? from: Tricia ByrnesI think the progression of snowboarding has been going crazy over the years. I don't know if I'd change anything but it's nice to see some riders do a huge method once and a while. It's been spin to win and soon it's going to be that along with a bunch of double fip variations. |
| 1. What is the best thing to happen to snowboarding? from: Tricia ByrnesI think the best thing to happen to snowboarding was for ski resorts to let us ride the lifts. I remember about 21 years ago when we could ride one beginner trail before we had to pay extra money to get certified by an instructor to go on the other trails. It's crazy how much the sport and mountains have changed. |
