Hey even!
ive been to pheonix AZ and it is a beautiful place!. I actully plan on living there someday, mainly because of the GNAR skateparks!

so heres what you should do..
Go to a GNAR park, haha, and find some one who is good but is looking like they are having fun, make sure that are happy cuz if there mad they might yell at you, but find someone and have them teach you some cool new tricks!

here is some advice go to a skate park and try vert ramp skateing and if thats not for you try street skateing and do what ever works for ya. and dont give up
