Fri Jun 20 2008 13:15:00

The first event of the 2008 AST Dew Tour, The Panasonic Open, is showing how important it is to bring your A game. Some of the world's best skaters are already knocked out of the Vert Contest Finals. Last year's #1 ranked bowlrider, Rune Glifberg, is out and so is Josh Stafford, the rookie who won the Open Qualifiers.

Coming out on top of the Skate Vert-Prelims is Danny Mayer with a high score of 83.75. Mayer finished 9th overall on last year's AST Dew Tour. Skating pioneer Bob Burnquist came in a close second with a score of 83.25. Another skateboarding pioneer Andy Macdonald came in third with a score of 83.00.

Be sure to check in Saturday for the result from Finals
