Considering how often I see this site advertised around the boardsports community... This forum is pretty dead.... Where are all the snowboarding addicts posting at ?? Or are they all too busy shredding?

Unfortunately I am stuck in an 9-5er all week so go211 and a few others not blocked by my company are alls I got!

So I guess the point of my post is... Let's get some more action on this forum!

You know what, as much as I agree with you, I personally prefer the site being in its newbie stages. Imagine, if thousands upon thousands of people accessed this site, sure you would have more interaction on the forums with random & often lame people, but at the same time, there would be less interaction between the pros and aspiring pros.

Like right now, a lot of the pros actually comment on people's pages BECAUSE there are like 3 people who access this site. But as soon as this site gets bombarded, which I predict it will once the winter olympics rolls around (which is 2 years away but still!) or the next x-games, or whatever competition, the intimacy between various people will get lost. That's why I'm so tempted to like.. friend as many pros as possible while I can (gotta catch them all you know what I mean?) before they hit it really big, because once they hit big, they don't respond to your messages and would only do the basic minimum like friend you. Either that, or have a generic message be sent to you automatically by the computer or perhaps a robotic person.

What makes this site so much better than the rest, especially a lot better than the pros' personal homepages, is that you get to see them interact with each other and you have a way higher shot of getting to know them as a person since the "Team" is currently pretty aggressive in luring unsuspecting victims by most likely requiring the pros to friend people, or respond to their comments. Honestly, 25% of the reason why I troll around this site is because I like the sport, but a good 75% is because I want to get to know the pro as a human being.

Maybe I digressed slightly. But... I too have a 9-5 job and WORD about the company blocking. HAHA!

Yea unfortunately this site is blocked at school. Cursed filters >.< Thank god for proxies though hehehe.

Go211 is definitely young when it comes to websites. But I think they have been doing a fantastic job. Broadcasting the BMX races helps alot I think and all the snowboarding events as well. I know so many people who love this site. It's just going to take time before it's a hit like sponsorhouse, but no doubt we will get there :)

The forums are a rather new feature for GO211. But they will attract a lot of traffic. So if chatting, arguing, agreeing, or whatever you want to do on a forum, is something you might be interested in, GO211 now lets you do it.

My reply to E -
The best way to get to know the pros is to spend some real time with them. Do a camp with them. Go ride with them at an event. And hand with them after the event. To try to really get to know a person over the internet is like reading between the lines.

It is great that we have this forum to connect and stay in touch but you still need the one on one contact. They are all great people with great stories that you will NEVER HEAR on any forum. LOL

That would be awesome! Unfortunately, I don't think I'll have a chance to do the camps because 1. they're expensive 2. I work full-time. I could attempt to attend some of the events, but I wouldn't imagine that the pros are readily accessible like that. Any inside advice on how to gain access? Haha
