Warm Weather In New Zealand May Affect Burton NZ Open

Wed Jun 18 2008 20:45:00

New Zealand Ski and Snowboard resorts are not opening on schedule due to unseasonably warm weather. Some resorts have postponed their opening day but have not yet set a date for an official open. The Burton New Zealand Open, the first event in the Burton Global Open Series, is scheduled to start in the beginning of August. Despite being six weeks away, there is no way of knowing if the slopes will be ready.

Burton had a similar problem last year with the Burton Canadian Open. The lack of snow due to warm weather resulted in the event's cancellation. GO211 is scheduled to have video highlights of Burton's New Zealand Open. Check back for more details in the next upcoming weeks.
