Hey there.
I know it's late, but I just thought I'd share my experience from the X-Games last week.
It turned out that I was an alternate athlete for the contest, and Aspen is only a hot minute away from the crib so I felt the obligation to make an appearance. I also had all kinds of friends who were going to be there, including my main buddy Ross Baker, so it was bound to be a blast no matter what.
Ross and I ended up staying at the Nike house right along with our little gnomie.. I mean homie Matt Ladley. The house was absolutely insane. It was easily the biggest/classiest house I've ever been inside. And coming from someone with plenty of wealthy, Vail friends, I feel that says a lot. I mean a legit aquarium in the master bedroom...? That's a little much.
Unfortunately I did not get into the contest, but it was a fun few days for sure. And my athlete (Ross Baker) pretty much owned the pipe contest. If you ask me, If he hadn't broke his binding in practice, ol' Ross would have came out victorious. Yup, he would have taken down that tomato kid for sure! Haha.
When all of the chaos of competing was over, we enjoyed some good, wholesome, pow shredding and soul-searching. And a few sponsor parties to top it off of course.
Overall, it was a fun few days. I just hope next year I can get in on all of the contest action, but that should not be a problem.
Well I'm out people. Check back soon for travel updates and photos!
