This weekend didnt go quite how I wanted...since I dont think anyone would want to crash 4 times!! We started out on Friday with some practice and I was pretty pumped because I felt like i was riding really wel...but then....I just couldn't be satisfied with how I was taking the straight already and had to try something else...and crashed. Nothing too bad though, life went on. So after a few minutes of break, I decide to go for the ramp, which should have been easy. I have rode a few of those now and am not very intimidated by the hill anymore so I wasn't scared but STILL ended up crashing over the first jump my first run down the ramp. What happened was that the hill was a little shorter because the race was indoors and I forgot and took a normal amount of pedals down the hill and ended up pedaling on the kink....NO GOOD. i got squirrely before the first jup but couldn't stop and went all crooked to the ground. That crash took its toll on me though because I couldn't practice anymore on friday and I was a hurtin unit stil come saturday..actually I am still a hurtin unit from that. My groin and hip were what was hurting and it was really hard to take strong first pedals. So, that made me a little nervous when Saturday practice came and it was ramp time. But, I ended up going for it by the end of practice but never hit the second jump on the first straight. Then time trials rolled around and I was a little nervous with the little practice I had but figured I could take a safe lap rolling the second jump since I knew there weren't 16 girls jumping it. So I did that and stayed up for a pretty slow, but good enough time to get through. However, by second time trial I was ready to ramp. I don't know why I didn't do it, maybe nerves, but I didn't hit the second jump AGAIN but ended up crashing going into the SECOND turn. So thats three crashes. I was now up to my whole left side of my body basically needing bandages and a gimp leg, PLUS a fresh gimp right quad from that last crash. However, somehow I managed to stay in the top 16 with my first time trial and if I was able to, had the option to rcae sunday. I took care of myself saturday and hoped I would magically heal for sunday...which I somewhat did, good enough to ride atleast. So, lil; run down me got up in the gate for the semis today and had rough luck AGAIN. First moto, I blew a tire in the second turn and got passed by three people to get 7th, so that was sweet. Second moto got my hopes up because I got a really good start and was in third, got a little ancy around the track and was a bit sketchy, so right at the line I moved back to 5th. But atleast I had finally hit the second jump that moto so that was a confidence boost. Anyways, come 3rd moto I was sittin on 12 and basically had to win to make the main, but i didn't. I crashed down the first stright AGAIN. wasn't my fault though, some girl hit me in the air and I tried to avoid taking Amanda Geving out and ended up taking myself out. But, in a way, I was happy the weeked was over. My body has taken a beating the last week and I am ready to heal. haha, and see all my scabs in my prom dress next weekend..haha. But anyways, in the mains there was Amanda, Arielle, and Jill and Arielle almost won but got past on the last straight, and then Jill and amanda balled up on the first straight and got 5th and 6th. And for the guys, somehow David Herman was the only one representing the USA in the main out of lane number 8....AND WON. congrats!
We are taking off early tomorrow morning though and now that you know all the facts...I will fill ya in on mor detail later.
and it was because internet was so expensive here why i wasn't updating frequently...sorry.
