One more disappointing thing to add to this year's stack....
I was feeling confident going to this race, I was supposed to have a good shot of winning, if not at least taking top three...and to everyone's surprise i got motoed. I didn't even QUALIFY to the final. This was extremely devastating to me but I've come home with a new fire in me. I think this race was a big wake up call to me and I am not going to let it get down on me too much, just want to move on with life and be more prepared for the years to come. I am taking the rest of the week off and finishing up my last few days of school and track and field and then i focus on racing...and a little gymnastics....for quite a while. I have made a plan for myself to get better and for once plan on sticking to it for more than a month!! haha. I am just going to take this trip as a learning experience and use it as motavation to become the next shanaze!! haha
I wasn't the only one with an upset in China though...the Jr boys didn't go quite as hoped with Logan Collins crashing in his quarter...maybe semi i cna't remember..But denzel stein got 3rd. Elite men was tough, with 3 of our guys being in one of the quarters and then 4 in the semi...only one ended up getting through and that was steven cisar who finished out the day well with a second, and donny following him up with a 4th. Bubba harris had a tough race and ended up going out by about a mm at the line. Arielle martin crashed alone in qualifying position and didn't make the main, so that was a bummer. Amanda nor kim made it either. Jill represented the USA and took home a 6th, guarenteeing her the only Olympic spot for the women.
the trip home was long but I am happy to be here. the beds in china weren't the best and mine felt really good...i slept through the whole school day today haha, but i plan to go back tomorrow for my last two days.
i will catch up later~alise
