I race BMX and I am the current ABA Women's Pro National Champion. I am a 4-time Amateur National Champion. I am the '07 UCI World Champion. I'm gonna train real hard and go for the gold in the 2012 Olympics in London. "Hailing from small town, middle America (St Cloud, Minnesota to be exact), Alise Post is the most successful female BMX racer to ever swing her leg over a bike. Alise started racing BMX at the age of 6 and immediately fell in love with the sport. Her older brother Nick was an avid racer and pushed to get her started in the sport. After a few practice sessions, Alise entered her first race and won, and the rest, as they say, is history. Her love of racing pushed her to win her first Girls Overall National Championship at the age of 10, beating out thousands of other girls for the title. Just to make sure no one thought it was a fluke, Alise repeated the feat three more times. Alise finished up her amateur career with well over 100 National victories and numerous Local, State, Regional and World Championship titles. Needing a new challenge, and despite the season being well under way, Alise decided to make the jump to the pro ranks mid-season in 2006. She turned 15 three months prior, the minimum age to enter the Pro category. After taking two thirds in her first two races, it didnt take her long to win her first race, finding the top of the podium in just her third try. Alise finished up with 5 wins for the season, enough to earn her the Women's Pro National Championship in her rookie year. At 15 years of age, Alise is the youngest to ever win the Pro Championship. And, the icing on the cake, Alise was also voted "Rookie Pro of the Year" (an honor that had been exclusively reserved for males) by the readers of BMX'er Magazine. So far in 2007, Alise already looks to be the odds-on favorite to repeat as the National Champion, making her only the third Woman to win it in back-to-back years. But, Alise has loftier goals. BMX will make it's debut at the Beijing, China Olympic Games in 2008, and despite the fact that she is the best female BMX racer the US has to offer, she will not be invited to attend this race. Alise misses the 19-years-of-age cutoff by about a year. So she will have to wait until 2012 - 5 years to train and focus on Olympic Gold. She will be 21 then, just coming into her prime. She will have the advantage, unlike the riders who will debut in Beijing, of knowing exactly what she is getting into. Expect, as usual, Alise to make the most of her opportunities. Away from the track, Alise excels at just about everything she tries. An all-star in gymnastics and track as well, Alise has already caught the eyes of several Division 1 colleges while still a high school sophomore. She finds the time between all of her extra-curricular activities to maintain a straight A report card. At 16, she is smart with a great humor and sensibilty about her. She is confidence personified, without the conceit that you might expect from someone who has achieved so much so soon. Alise knows what it takes to succeed, her drive and work ethic are unparalleled. She is the total package - smart, good natured, outgoing, attractive, and, above all, a champion."

france 10/10

Thu, 11 Oct 2007 - Posted at 03:55:36 PM

So I’m here in France, without ANY of my luggage, for the third day.  Actually, I guess I only got here on Tuesday morning, but I started traveling on Monday morning.  I’ve worn the same clothes for three days, and I’m getting a bit upset about the whole deal. The US National team had practice at a local track this morning that me, Amanda Geving, the girl I traveled with, and some of the guys didn’t attend because we didn’t have our bikes yet which was disappointing. So today we slept in a bit, got some breakfast, called the airport and our bags were supposedly in the Nice airport just waiting to be delivered. So we waited around for a while, the guys’ bikes came…we waited some more. Few hours later the team came and had already eaten lunch so I went and got a nutella and banana crepe, ham and mozzarella Panini, and the only American tasting beverage, Coke. Then Amanda’s bike showed up, but mine was STILL not here, so I waited some more... and then I really got pissed.  A little later the airport called the hotel though and said they had received the bags around four and would deliver them this evening…didn’t happen. So the airport has lied to me three times and I still don’t have my bike. I  am pretty worked up since we have practice on the actual track already tomorrow, and if my bike doesn’t come it looks like I will have to try out DR Donny Robinson’s bike. Whatever though, I’m going to try to stay relax and just cross my fingers that the bags get here early in the morning and everything goes smooth.

From the looks of it, it doesn’t look like tomorrow’s riding is going to be too good anyway. We’ve gone to the track twice now, once Tuesday and once today and there wasn’t much progress on the “unfinished” track. The bottom of the starting ramp was sandy, the ramp wasn’t complete yet, and in general everything was soft.  The UCI will get it together though and everything will probably be just fine.

Tomorrow the guys practice first and then the girls practice at three, so hopefully my bike is here and put together by then and everything will be just dandy. But anyways, I gotta get to bed, we’ve gone to dinner late the last few nights and I’m still getting used to the seven hour ahead time change. So check back tomorrow night, or “tonight” by the time this gets put up on the internet because the internet didn’t work for the night.

WAIT...just got done typing and my bike and clothes bag just got here!! it's almost midnight!! wow i'm relieved....i think i will be able to sleep well tonight =)
