This trip to Japan felt extra long, maybe all the weather delays at the Nippon and the fact that I didn't make pipe finals or that when we go to Alts Bandai we spend the majority of the time in the hotel. Not that we don't ride all day but every other activity is in the hotel. So yeah, I felt like I was turning Japanese, which is a good thing I guess since I have been studying Japanese through books and tapes and Japan is a good place to practice my skills.Tricia has all these crazy costumes for the go211 set and of course we all had turns trying them on.
So the contest was pretty crazy, we had some weather issues, snow, sun blowing wind, a little bit of everything. So the park style as they call slopestyle in Japan was all in one day, i ended up 5th but was stoked because I almost landed a BS7 which I had never tried before. I guess I need to try it again. The Pipe however was not so awesome for me. Semi's day we had a bunch of weather holds and postponed and all that stuff, they finally decided to run the contest in howling wind and snow and super slow conditions, nobody rode to their potential and somehow I missed finals by one place, I landed a good run but who knows. Pretty bummed but I guess that is contests for you. Instead of competing Sunday for Finals, I helped host the live webcast when the sun came out of course.

My last day in Japan I redeemed myself, I took a train to the coast and had an epic day surfing with some old friends. Pretty amazing, perfect waves and the perfect way to start my long travel day home. Amazing what you can fit in a day. That's all for now.....kelly
