The house phone is sure quiet with Angela in Steamboat. But the cell bill will make up for it. LOL We speak daily either on the cell or on skype and it has been a good adjustment for her. She is working hard at her training and I'm hearing great feedback from the coaches and staff. I know that she is anxious to get on the snow next week. I have a few more items to pick up for her and have shipped to Colorado. Other than that, I think she is in to her routine of college classes, training, and real life experiences. Making new friends and meeting new people has never been a stumbling block for her or any of my other children.
Last weekend was the First Annual Board of Directors Meeting of the "Snowboard Moms From Hell". An eclectic group of alpine snowboard moms from New Hampshire and Massachusetts who see nothing wrong with getting up at 3 am to drive your athlete to a race, stand in subzero temperatures to watch it and then drive home to fix them dinner. Yes the "Snowboard Moms From Hell" are a strange breed. Even though our athletes have moved in many different directions, they have all remained friends. Many banterings across the table regarding boards, boots, bindings, events, politics, and college could be heard throughout the weekend. We just had a laid back and jell weekend while the foliage was at its peak hear in New Hampshire. Of course, the great selection of movies and brews helped round out the festivities. Looking forward to the next meeting.
