It's been a while since I last wrote. I'll keep this short, but many good things have happened, with a few more lined up.
As some of you may have heard, I am now partnered up with AT&T. I met with them last month for two solid production days where we did some rad shooting for their "Tips and Training" concept that will first be shown at ATTblueroom.com. Basically, I was filmed giving 15 tips about my training and life that might help even the weekend-warriors see better results. Not only was I busy demonstrating these tips, but I also had to try and look good in front of that camera. The end result was a totally successful shoot, with me gaining many new friends and that much more 'on camera' experience that I love so much. Thanks to everyone at AT&T, The Marketing Arm, Davie-Brown and Octagon for this!
Tim Reynolds from the Associated Press wrote a perfect article about me that was picked up by so many newspapers the day after Christmas. I got calls from Florida, Michigan, Houston, Washington, Utah and so many more from people saying they saw the article. Here is the link from the USATODAY version. Thanks Andy Lee and Tim!
The NBL put on a contest that would allow the top recruiter of new BMX riders to have their room be made over as the "Ultimate BMX Bedroom." Kelley Cottrill from Illinois was the winner. Check out her room! Apparently, I am one of her favorite riders and now I'm on her wallpaper. Thanks Kelley!
My Go211.com "Donny Q&A" session was successful with a solid 4 pages of visitor questions. I loved it.
Just got back from Columbus, Ohio last week from the NBL race. Because of a few mistakes I didn't end up so well. 4th on the first day and a crash on the second left me with an 8th place. USATODAYlive also made an appearance in Ohio, where I was able to take part in an interview. Very honored for this as well.
I head to the Olympic Training Center down in San Diego on Monday for the first USA Cycling BMX camp. I will be there for over two weeks training and testing and on the 21st of Jan. I will take part in a media day for the ribbon cutting ceremony of the BMX track that has been built for us. Camera's, speeches, riding...it's my kind of thing. Haha.
Thanks!
Donny
