2009 is off and running...
First off, I'm super pumped about this -> I am officially a Kicker Audio athlete!
Donny Robinson | KICKER Although the marketing "magic man" Jason Jones has made me feel a part of the Kicker family for some 4 years already, he, and Kicker have made another dream of mine come true. I am featured on the silver color of the new Kicker EB141 Earbuds. They will be available at your hometown mass-merchant retailer soon. I've been sporting a pair for about a week now and they are the best sounding earbuds you'll ever use. So, expect me to spend a lot of time in the electronics section of the stores trying to sell these to people haha.
I've already had two races so far this year. I'm hitting the training hard again but the results just aren't coming as fast as I'd like them to. First week in January was the season opener in Reno, NV. Cool race, but it was tough for sure as the Gold, Silver and Bronze Medalists from the Olympics were in attendance. I made the final on day two and finished 6th.
NOW, FOR THE NEWS THAT SHALL PUMP EVERYONE UP...
BMX Racing is now back on TV! Thank you NBC Universal Sports and the ABA for making this happen. I'll just let you read the awesome press release.
According to the schedule the first TV race has past, and it has, let me tell you how it went. Saturday's race in Guthrie, OK was the one filmed and it was a mediocre day as far as the racing went. For the one-lap final, so much can happen. I came from the outside gate seven and was battling for third when I made a few mistakes. I ended up finishing the race in 5th. Sunday's race was a bit better as I made an appearance on the podium with a 3rd place. Pretty cool for Sunday as Kyle Bennett, Mike Day and myself were on the podium. Um, hello... we were the three U.S. Olympians- I thought it was cool. Even though the race was better than Reno, my competitive side only desires to win, so I'll continue the hard work until the wins hopefully start coming in again.
I did however run a helmet-cam after the race on Sunday to give the viewers at home a little perspective into what a lap on a track is like. Precious. I'll update when the races are going to air.
While I was in Oklahoma I stopped by the Kicker headquarters to sign a few autographs and hang out.
*Just some guys discussing some product*
*Seriously, people need to give my medal back when I ask*

On the way home from Oklahoma I hit a nice little ice storm. 3 cancelled flights, detour to Chicago and 20 hours later I got home, thanks for asking. Don't let the picture fool you, the American and Delta flights never left either.
And finally, last night,Jan. 31st, I went to ICEE/Anderson's 209/Snap BMX Team's crab feed benefit for their new BMX track in Manteca, CA. Pretty rad evening, as I sat and spoke with R.C. Owens. For all you football fans, he played for the 49ers in the 50's and invented the "alley oop" reception. Even I had to be educated about "alley-oops" in football. Alley oop is a modern day Hail Mary play. R.C. invented the Hail Mary! That's cool...
My next race is another televised one which takes place in Lake Perris, CA this coming weekend. Will be good times...
Thanks
Donny
