Weather was the problem (Tue, 30 Jun 2009 Posted at 11:30:00 PM)

Pretty crazy last few weeks.  Came in to Philly for the ABA and everything was going smooth.  Planned on meeting up with Kyle Bennett Thursday night, chill in the hotel, wait for the J Rog on Friday and make the trip to Delaware.  Kyle of course messed everything up and he never came in Thursday.  I stayed with Jud Ciancio from Hyper and went over with him to Delaware.  It had rained so the track was mush.  Saturday I was in second behind Kyle in the main and I hit some soft stuff and went head over tea kettle.  The crash still hurts.  Sunday I was sore, but determined.  I was so determined I crashed again in my semi on the asphalt turn and tore the remainder of my body up.  Awesome.  Sunday night I headed over to Clay Goldsmid's house who is the owner of Hyper.  I was staying back east during the week because we had a race in Illinois the next weekend.  Had a blast at Clay's house just resting up and hanging out with his kids Shane and Clay.  These kids can ride bikes.  Of course they are more in to park and dirt riding but they shred for their ages.  Hung out at Hyper headquarters a bit and rode the infamous Hyper track.  Wanna know who I rode with?  First, was Tony Romando.  Dude works for WWE and he's a rad cat.  The other person I rode with was Bill Clinton.  Of course this Bill Clinton rides a cruiser.  Had a blast riding with these guys.  Friday I headed off to Rockford, IL.  Was supposed to arrive in Chicago at 11am, meet up with KB and head to practice.  This time I flaked out.  Storms were rollin' through Chicago and I was kept on the tarmac in Philly for 5 hours.  No food, no nothing.  Love ya US Airways!  Legs were feelin' good for sure.  I finally got to Rockford at 10pm and missed practice.  It was better than Jason Rogers who was diverted to Madison, WI and had to have his dad drive to pick him up because they totally cancelled his flight.  I was staying with KB and Cristian Becerine and they made me get a cot to sleep on.  Whatever dudes I keep to my side of the bed, we could have put a "dude divider" up.  Saturday's race was pretty good.  Passed Stumpy in the second turn as he was trying to block Cristian.  I owe Stumpy because he gave me his back tire after mine blew out and then I gave him the business in the second turn.  Kyle ended up winning and I got second.  Kyle's been going fast lately but Stump definitely would have given him a run if I hadn't impeded his progress.  Oh well, he won both days in South Park and he'll be looking to 2-peat the NBL title in a couple months.  Sunday me and Mike Day fell in the first turn.  3 crashes in last two weekends meant it was time to go home.

Photos below are courtesy of course of the great Jerry Landrum.  Except for the last photo.  Stump check out how that front tire makes my bike look now!
