For those of you that caught X Games, I was pretty stoked to make finals. That was my first week back after a fairly serious ankle injury. Qualification night the pipe was awesome. Soft and fast the pipe was perfect. Finals night was icy hard, with a dusting of snow on top making it really slow. I was stoked with my qualification run, but finals, wasn’t really feeling it. What you probably didn’t know is that my right arm was strapped to my body so that I would not dislocate. My ankle was working, but when I did a cold turkey front 9 in my last run it fully shut my ankle down. The reason I waited till the last run to throw it. X Games is always fun though and I enjoyed having my wife Amber there as the TV crew was good at capturing her on TV while she froze at the bottom.
The next morning we left early to try to catch our flight out of Denver, but I70 was shut down to a bad accident. On the drive I saw 3 cars completely flipped over and another 4 slid of the road. We charged it anyways in hopes to make our flight. We missed it by 15 minutes, which was lame. Our flight hadn’t even taken off when we arrived. Next flight was at 6 at night that got us home by 9pm only giving me 6 hours to unpack, repack, sleep and catch a 6 am flight the next morning to Austria. I pulled it off though.
I am now at the Air & Style in Innsbruck Austria competing in the QuarterPipe event where history went down in 2001 in the stadium when a couple kids were trampled to death while exiting the stadium. Since then many security measures have been taken. Claus did an excellent job on the quarter and I am looking forward to finals this Saturday night.

Art project for X games.
Watching the flobots, they are pretty rad.
