It is officially 4/20......stoners around the globe are sparking up in celebration of their most beloved holiday, here in Seattle panhandlers are begging for anything green and Grenerds from around the country have come together to celebrate the third annual Grenade Games; a festival of ridiculous antics, partying and of course a little shredding. The event is held annually on the twentieth of April, coincidence? I think not....
Snoqualmie Pass will host this insanely fun excuse for a snowboard contest, kicking it off at “oh I don’t know, say about noon”, which is exactly what time all snowboarding events should begin at. The hour or so pipe jam will be followed by a dunk the Dingo contest, where we will all get a chance to dunk our favorite aussie commentator and trouble maker and then finish up the day with a little mechanical bull riding. This event screams kids birthday party all over it, and that is exactly what tonight’s pre-game “registration” party felt like, someone’s twenty first birthday party where everyone gets drunk and kicked out of the bar before the party even begins.....the excitement, or possibly the free beer, is so hard to handle, everyone blows themselves out before ten and instead of party hats and noise makers, we got tye-dye tee-shirts and hippie ponchos. But before the cops came and shooed everyone away, I snapped a few pics of my favorite grenerds.
