Holly has been skateboarding and snowboarding competitively for over 10 years. She is a World Cup Women's Bowl Rider and 5 times X Games athlete. She grew up in Walnut Creek, Ca. and graduated from the University of Santa Cruz with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Economics. After she graduated Holly moved to Tahoe to snowboard. She also produced, directed, and organized amateur skateboard contests. She helped raise $150,000 that was the foundation for the first permanent skate park in the area. She said, "It felt great able to make a difference in my town." After snowboarding, competing, and traveling for many years, Holly wanted to concentrate on skateboarding more, so she moved to Encinitas where it's summer all year long. In 2003, she was asked to be a part of the first and only female vert demo at the Gravity Games. She was also invited to compete in the first ever female vert contest at X Games lX in 2003. Holly has also competed in the summer X Games in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. In 2005, Holly was given her own Signature Shoe with Power Shoes. She decided to immortalize her Chihuahua, Rerun by making him the icon for her shoe. Holly has worked as a skateboard stunt double on "Hannah Montana", "That's So Raven", and for Haylie Duff in the feature film "Dishdogz." Holly has also been a co-host on a pilot TV show called "The Cage" and many episode of "GKA" for Fuel TV. In 2006, Holly was given her own Pro Model Skateboard with Cool Girl Decks, which is the top selling board for the company. Holly is one of a select few females in skateboarding to have both a signature shoe and a pro model skateboard. In spring 2006, Holly was one of a handful of professional female skateboarders who were invited to be a castee for the first ever 100% Keep-A-Breast Art Show and Auction to raise money and awareness for breast cancer. Holly also has an "Ask A Pro" page for Cool Girl Skateboards where she answers questions from girls around the world about skating, etiquette, boys and more. Holly loves being able to help others and has said many times that, "Inspiring each other is what it's all about!" In 2007, she started her own clothing company called, Sk8Grl. She saw a need for girls to have their own identity and place in skateboarding. Holly feels like skateboarding is a love of her's and has given her so much, so this is a way she can give back to skateboarding and to the girls that love it too. She plans on making it a very interactive site where girls can meet eachother, post their events, and more. www.Sk8Grl.com

So, I had reconstructive surgery on my left wrist.  I had completely severed the tendon below my thumb.  How does one do that?  Well, I was skating the combi bowl in Orange, back in May and fell on my wrist.  I then thought I spran it so I was just going to wrap it up the next day.  After I wrapped it, I moved my wrist around and felt a pop and all of the sudden, the top joint of my left thumb was permanently bent.

My philosophy about a lot of injuries has been...."If I ignore it, it will go away".  Sometimes it does, other times, I actually have to goto the Dr.  I tried my jedi mind tricks on my wrist to heal the injury, but after I got an MRI the Dr. said it didn't matter how I tried to heal myself, the tendon was completely severed and there was no way a connection could have been made.

I had waited a few weeks after the injury even to get looked at, because again I thought I could heal myself.  After I got the MRI but before I found out the results, I was flown to Ohio to be on an episode of MTV MADE.  I now had to wait for over 6 more weeks before I could get surgery.

If any of you saw the MTV MADE episode you know there was a lot of emotions coming from the Mother and Alex, the girl I was coaching.  For many weeks I didn't mind that Alex cried.  I mean she cried on the treadmill, she cried doing push ups, she cried when the wind blew a certain way.  The pain in my arm started to escalate though and this 15 year old girl was anything but into actually skating. And was crying for no reason as I was in a good amount of pain.

Two different days the Mom went off on me, but they knew how much I needed surgery yet I was in Ohio and unable to do it, so I was trying to make the best of the situation.  I was upset at the second time Mom went off and was ready to go home myself.  We worked it out and I finished the show.  There were lots of funny and fun moments, but I guess they just wanted to focus on those two times with the Mom and revolve the rest of the show around that.

MTV really cut and spiced that show and showed things out of context.  Whatever, that's Reality TV I guess.  Anyways, after I got back and had surgery at the end of July, I am finally feeling 100%.  Physical injuries for me also really affect me emotionally and spiritually.  I did not feel like myself for a couple of months.  Wow, but I sure have learned a lot though.  My mind went through emotional boot camp tearing my thoughts to the ground and rebuilding.  It was really painful and I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy.  Luckily it only lasted a short but very intense time.  I finally stopped spiraling out of control when I totalled my car in traffic in LA on Oct. 8. HI, wake up call....

It never seemed like it really happened.  Very surreal.  Luckily I am o.k., my Chihuahua Rerun is o.k., and the girl I rear ended is o.k.  My car's air bags blew and the the radiator was all over and they said my car was a gonner.   I now had 30 days in a rental car to find a new one.  This was a major wake up call to start thinking differently.

I had a car in mind and a price so now it was my mission to let go and know the right car was there.  It came to me in a vision what my car was to be.  A Honda CR-V.  I had never thought of that car before, but that's what I saw and so now I was looking for one.  I have two great friends who went with me on different days.  I went to San Diego, Orange County, El Cajon, and LA.  Some days, I knew it was just a fun day of connecting with my friend.  I made lots of phone calls, but could tell as I was doing it, that they weren't the right car.  I believe it was good to stay in momentum, but I didn't let myself feel the pressure of the days counting down.  I new that before the 30 days were up, I would have the most perfect CR-V.  My vision saw it being white, yet on the 29th day in Covina, LA. there is was.  A shiny bright sliver Honda CR-V in perfect condition.  It had one owner and is incredibly clean on the inside and out.  They had originally wanted $8,000 more than what I paid.  YES!!!  I had a certain amount to spend and I was $6.00 under my amount.  I was hoping to spend less than what I had and pocket some cash, although with taxes I paid a little over a $1,000.  That's o.k. it is sooooo worth it!

I love my new car!  Life is a really crazy dream that's for sure.  Here are some photos of my wrist and my new car.  I had faith and didn't stress, and the car is better than I had imagined.

O.K. next is to manifest the most perfect guy.....that's a work in progress. :-)
