First few days in the U.S (Tue, 15 Jan 2008 Posted at 08:56:12 PM)
I have been in the U.S for a few days now and so far so good. When i arrived Heathrow Airport i was abit worried as i had 2 bikes and a big bag with me. The baggage allowance these days sucks so i was expecting trouble! I was lucky to have a real cool lady that didnt even blink an eyelid at my bags and checked everything in with no question. With things starting of so good, i thought my luck would have to change soon enough. I booked my seats online 24hrs before departure to make sure i had good seats with leg room, so when i boarded the flight there was a guy sat in my seat and he asked if i would swap with him as he wanted to sit next to his wife. I asked what seat he was in and he said...oh 39 h or something. The airsteward came over and was asking what was up, so i explained. She said leave it with me and before i new it...Upgrade was on the cards! So needless to say i had a pleasant flight!
The Bradfords picked me up from San Fran and then we drove straight to Reno. I wasnt expecting much with jet lag etc but i felt pretty good. The Aba gate was hard to get used to again, but things worked out. I finished 3rd on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday in A Pro so i was real happy with how things went.
In Monterey now and i still love this place! Everything is just....Good. I dont really know how to explain it. Just good!!
Trained today and went over to the local trails where Joey, Gavin and Dean have been busy building a new section so another shovel came in handy i guess.
Keep checking back for updates every few days.
Cheers, Liam
