I am currently in Huntington Beach and I am wearing a tight Speedo intentionally backwards. I have a gig tonight in Hollywood. I play guitar and sing in a band called The Villains Trust. I am currently on tour playing a few solo shows out in Nor Cal, Portland, and LA looking to turn some people onto my tunage. I am about ready to head to my gig and I just realized that I broke two of my strings during last nights show. I don't have time to buy any strings so I am trying to decide what kind of a show I should put on tonight. I was thinking of wearing a lab coat and maybe juggling punctured Coke cans while reciting my songs as intense flows or acting out my songs silently like I am playing a big game of Charades with the crowd. I hope the crowd brings their thinking caps...and some coffee, it is going to be a long show yet very interactive and innovative.
I have a photoshoot tomorrow with Nick Egan for some posters and potential album covers. Nick is a legend. Nick is a rock n' roll filmmaker/photographer/videographer/artist that lives in the LA area. Nick has worked with a ton of historic bands/musicians/ actors etc... so I am nervous because I am a nobody. He has done album covers and music videos for the likes of Oasis, Mick Jagger, INXS, Sonic Youth, Duran Duran, and Iggy Pop to name a few. He got his start in college by designing album covers for The Clash...um yeah, that's pretty sick! I'm a huge fan. With that being said, I am not sure what to do with my facial hair. I am currently sporting a large beard, by my standards, and I am questioning whether I should go with maybe a nice revolutionary war stache with Elvis-esque chops or leave it in it's natural state. Tough call. I will make sure that I post some of the pictures from the shoot so you can check them out.
After the shoot it is back to the east for a while to play some shows, play some lacrosse, and play dead in the unlikely event of a grizzly bear encounter.
