Sounds Like:
If you are interested in baking a pHt pie, take 2 parts The Police 1 part Jeff Buckley and Santana Add in a healthy "smattering" of Blues Traveler mix it up with a wooden spoon, sprinkle some kinks, zeppellin, phish, and juanes. Bake for a few minutes and you might come up with a dish the "sounds like" Parker House and Theory
Parker House and Theory’s sound lives in the alleyways between the restrictive structures of modern genre classification. These aren’t dark and dangerous alleyways, they’re spaces slammed wall-to-wall with bright flashing head turning neon lights. Explicitly diverse, often misclassified, Parker House and Theory mashes rock, funk, pop and soul, oozing with energy and smacking you in the face with charisma.
Rooted in the eccentric nature of the 5 acting and film majors that comprise the band, personality is center stage for Parker House and Theory. What started in the clubs and colleges around Boston has grown beyond the New England market to the entire Northeast thanks to relentless touring and an organic grassroots buzz. A commanding stage presence and tireless energy backed by infectious, catchy hooks and a tight dynamic make it impossible for anyone to stay seated at their shows.
Labeled as a "soon to crack" band (Boston Herald) and "fiercely musical… one of the next generation of acts to watch" (Boston Globe), Parker House and Theory is on a mission to spread their musical seed far and wide. This year they have won over the audiences of and shared the stage with Jurassic 5, 311, G. Love and Special Sauce, The Wailers, Dropkick Murphy’s, John Butler Trio, Everclear, Ari Hest and State Radio.
