BMX Olympic Semi-Finals And Medal Races Rained OutPosted at 10:30:00 PM
The men's and women's Olympic BMX semifinals and medal races were rained out today. The races were scheduled to be televised live on Wednesday at 10:00 pm (EST). But poor conditions at the track resulted in the judges decision to postpone the event. NBC has not announced when or if the races will be televised. But Olympic officials say the races will take place Thursday (Friday in China). Five GO211 Team Riders are competing in the Olympics. Donny Robinson, Kyle Bennett, and Jill Kitner are competing for TEAM USA. Liam Phillips is representing Great Britain and Jonathan Suarez is on the Venezuela team. The rain delay is good news for Kyle Bennet. He dislocated his left shoulder in a crash during a quarterfinal heat. Bennet, a three time world champion, will face fellow American Donny Robinson and Mike Day in the semifinals. The United States is the only team with three riders in the semifinals.
