Worlds Between Us are a fairly new band and Olife in coloured squares¹ is their first full release so normally it would be hard to talk up this record. However, as you¹ll know as soon as you hear them, Worlds Between Us have been striving hard to create modern hardcore music without limiting themselves to certain influences or focusing on a certain genre fro the last two years and have achieved something very special.

The band all grew up being involved in hardcore and punk projects and listening to a range of rock and hardcore bands including Converge, Poison the Well, Darkest Hour, Refused and JR Ewing. You can hear these influences in their music but there is so much more and as far as the song writing is concerned, they seem to have totally their own blueprint. The resulting sound is at once melodic, varied and powerful.

As with any art, the band is clearly a means of expression for its members and with the soaring, catchy vocals reflecting the singers personal views and thoughts, and the pure originality of this music, you know they¹ve got something to say. The guitar work is particularly amazing, with all the power of Canaan or Bane but with the added skill of At The Drive-In or Thin Lizzy. These guys are as powerful as any band out there but catchy, clever and original with it.

The band heads wherever its members decide to take it and considering they¹ve played all over central Europe already, supporting bands like 100 Demons, Darkest Hour, Himsa, Most Precious Blood and Zao, you¹ll probably hear from them soon. Trust us, you¹ll be better off for it! .
