(Go Keir!)
So, I'm watching the X-Games 14 with my mom. I'm here to reflect on Danny Way:
He catches the edge, falling 20 feet, narrowly missing his head. And his spine could've easily snapped back. Now, his ankles hit the rim quite hard, he bridges back, landing on his hip and sliding to the bottom. The medics come. But--
1. First he moves his legs
2. Then he gets up and limps off with VERY limited assistance. (My kinda guy-just check the DC stick on his helmet)
3. So then, like...and this is the most awesome part for now--they try to sit him in the wheelchair AND HE DOESN'T TAKE IT! HOLY SHIT! I would've done the same thing except my injury would've been from something other than going down that vertical drop. I don't think i could ever grow enough balls to go down that. But yeah, wheelchairs...so vulnerable and awkward.
4. THEN HE TAKES HIS SECOND RUN! YEAH! Because, you know, that's what it's all about. I was so proud of him!
5. Then he nailed his next run.
6. Then he fell on the run after that ): But the point is that he didn't pussy out and i really respected his attitude about it. It impressed me--like, it was kinda inspiring, you know? Anyways.
7. Then he nails his next run. Dayum. You go! 94! First place! Yay!
So, me and this Danny guy...i really got him. Meaning i understood his drive and it was so rad. So we're cool. I dig him.
And when you looked in his eyes...dude...DUDE, they were like stones...ssstoooonnneeeessss....
