Appomattox have been stunning music freaks with their uniquely frenzied sound and sneaky-catchy songs since forming in late 03 both on cd and on stage...Led constantly to the edge by the ringing shout/stop singing and kinetic-spazz guitar tones of their sinewy frontman nick gaynier, the trio's shows have become mandatory for those who seek the cathartic scream-along and the pulsing wall of sound...Anchored by the sinister melodies of david nurmi's growling bass guitar and propelled with metal-on-concrete bombast by james mello's drumming, Appomattox has produced a self-released 6 song EP in late 05 described in reviews as:
...a perfect wrangling of those middle two Blonde Redhead albums, the first couple of Radiohead records and a squeeze of Jawbox..."

After moving to NYC from Boston in Fall of 2006 the band promoted their ep with 2 tours of the US: one solo east coast/midwest jaunt and one unforgettable west coast/northwest trip in support of San Francisco's own Low Red Land. Appomattox will keep playing their explosive live rock shows in Boston and New York City as well as continuing to tour through out the U.S. The band looks forward to touring Europe and the far east whenever the opportunity may arise. Plans are in the works for a full US tour in the spring of 2008 to support Appomattox's upcoming debut full-length recording, to be released on Brooklyn's Triple Down Records (www.tripledownrecords.com).
In October 07 Appomattox ventures into the woods of western Mass to record their debut full-length at Bank Row Recordings with Justin Pizzoferrato (Dinosaur Jr., J.Mascis, Free Kitten/Kim Gordon, Witch). The anticipated release will be in January-February 08.
