Its good to be back on the ABA circuit again, still a bit of an adjustment for my riding style but fun to be around friends I havent hung out with in a long time. I rolled in on Friday to the the Reno LiveStock Events Center and said "where is the starting hill?"Its back to the BMX roots now, all power down that first straight! The track had a really fun long rhythm section that I think everyone was psyched on and overall it was a smooth fast track as usual.
Personally I felt a little flat racing, its been a draining year for me maybe the hype of the Olympics and my own let down of not being there the last two weeks it took a bit out of me. I was a little sloppy out of the gate but managed two 2nds over the weekend which is still good enough to keep my ABA run going. My teammate Alise took the victory both days. The "Formula one-two punch" as its been coined is still running strong with us swapping places from Salt Lake to Reno.
AA Denzel brought home his first victory among the big boys Saturday but got a little over-amped Sunday and spun out the last main or he would have killed it both days. Khalen brought home the win Sunday followed by Barry Nobles for the 2.
The big local news of the weekend was Utah sensation Travis Healey turning pro. It came as a total surprise but he proved he was ready for it by not only making his main at a stacked A pro race but barely missing the podium for a 4th place finish Saturday. Trav would have been back for the spot Sunday had a huge crash in his semi not wiped him ou.t. Congrats on your pro debut Travis!
Its time for an overdue vacation from my bike for me , my husband Mike is coming home from Afghanistan this week and I am so excited!
Next stop for me is Lancaster followed by the UCI SX in Frejus.
