The house is almost packed up, i'm sittin on the couch with my feet propped up on boxes watching the Laker game and relaxing on my last Sunday here in Tennessee. While the greater part of me is excited to be moving to Washington--to be back on the West coast and closer to family, there is still a part of me that is sad to be leaving here. We have made some good friends and settled in to a nice routine at Ft Campbell. Mike will be leaving some of his buddies that he has been with since basic and a company that took great care of him while he was deployed.
As for me I definitely WONT miss the Tennessee weather (scorching hot and humid or monsoon rains and ice storms) and I wont miss the 72 mile drive to the track but I will miss the riding crew we had going down there... When Chase, Tome, Logan, and myself all managed to be there at the same time we've had some good sessions. The track is in great shape right now and I am bummed that I havent been able to ride it more this season thanks to my heel blow out and the ridiculous weather. They just resurfaced some jumps and have a brand new pro gate coming this week so it should be dialed for the national which I will have to miss thanks to NBL insisting it be the same weekend as Salt Lake.
Special thanks to Robert Campbell (in pic below) for letting me shred the track on off time and Randy Harris especially for sitting there in freezing cold or super hot temperatures to run gates for me when the track is closed or flooded. I'll miss all y'all :)
Should be officially out of here on Thursday, 2,430 miles to go...
