Just finished off a nice practice session at Rad Canyon, its always a good feeling to come back to my roots where it all began for me. The first track I started racing on when I was five was called Twin Peaks Supercross, pretty far cry from what we consider to be supercross now and the things I remember most about it dont exist in BMX anymore, such as the cool bonsai (sp?) and wedge jump where my wheels first left the ground. Anyway that got plowed when I was 10 and Rad Canyon came to be and will always remain my home track. Its riding pretty fresh right now, the corners (all three paved) are the best I have ever carved, I almost cant get enough of it. Its going to be warm here this weekend but I think last weekend has me a little more prepped for it and I cant wait to redeem myself from last weekend.
Not a whole lot to report on my performance from Sunday in Roseville. I actually felt great in qualifying, won my laps with ease, im not sure if it was the heat or if I pedaled to much in motos but I was FLAT come main time. I had no 1,2,3 and got squeezed pretty hard out of the gate, continuing with my goal of not backing down however with less smarts because I was pissed off I tried to charge through no opening and crashed myself, awesome. Not to worry though lessons learned and I am on a track this weekend that I excel at.
Also want to put a bit in for another ALL GIRLS CLINIC I am doing at Sea Tac BMX in Seattle next week Jul 15-16 12-3p cost is $50 for both days and I am going to try and round up some stuff from the sponsors for the girls. The first girls clinic I did in Louisville generated a lot of buzz and requests for more of them so come out and support the ladies, we should have fun!
Check out pics below from Roseville, took the AA gate pic with my phone, pretty impressed with myself on that one and stole the other one from http://gtbicycles.com. Coming across the desert in Nevada I hit some gnarly bug storm and it just plastered the front of my toaster box. Ill update later this weekend
