Finally landed a victory today, felt like a long uphill battle since the heel blow out and its nice to have the monkey off the back. It wasn't without some work though, Steph was strong down the first straight and I had to use every inch of the first corner to my advantage, thanks for paving them so nice Rad. Steph finished 2nd and Taylor Walcott for the 3rd overall.
AA was the Maris Vs Stumpy show round 2. They were tied going into the third main and I thought Stump had a solid bike length heading into the first corner but his unlucky outside lane to Maris' inside played him out and the Robot used it to his advantage getting the victory today. Not sure but I think dR or possibly TB for the 3rd?
Big Daddy pretty much handled the kids in Vet with a very nice podium finish, the guy is straight legend... Fallen and Street 1&2
The weather was perfect, a nice cloud cover combined with some breeze kept the temps down til around maintime when it started cooking but at least I didnt have heat exhaustion before the mains started.
Its been great to see old faces out here, guys I used to look up to back in the day making an appearance and some even racing. Courntey Green, Chris Park, Jonas Harmon, Ronnie Gillespie, Tim Thompson the crew of guys from 1997 that are primarily responsible for teaching me to jump were all in attendance this weekend. JDog and Chris Park batteling it out with Ray Hudson and Shannon Troglia in 28-35x was almost as good as seeing Spencer go from dead last to blast and almost the win in 35+x.
Pretty beat, time for some celebratory cookies and a nap. Pics below: Nephew representing the fan club complete with a GT sticker, Fresh look to the trailer door, and Spencer's little girl annihilating a banana.
