Not sure if i'm happy or sad that the world cup here is over, it was such a great event with a good show put on by the CV-OTC, the ABA, and a pretty stacked field of competitors.

I was really gunning for a win on the home turf, but 3 seemed to be my number this weekend. I took third in the TT behind Mariana and Laetitia, and what do you know... third in the final yesterday behind Laetitia and Mariana. All things considered I have to be happy with that--and I am. I only rode my bmx bike on the track twice before the race since breaking my hand in SA last month, and both times it hurt bad enough that I wasn't sure it would be race ready. Lucky enough the ole metacarpal pulled through and I was able to throw down a little something out there. Nobody is surprised Mariana rode so well, she has been coming at us for years... definitely the biggest talent to come out of South America since Mario Soto.

Also big props to my American teammates Brooke, Amanda, and Alise for making the final--4 Americans in the main shows our program is on the move... look out team France!

On the mens side it looked to be a MDay vs Strombergs show with dR in the wild card position. The gate was falling a little slow and some of those fast dudes hung up on it hard including Donny in the semi who came back to battle hard for that last spot but lost it to the kid Conner Feilds. Add to that the condensation from the ocean air that was building on the ramp and come main time Mikey slammed the gate followed by a spin out and Maris was long gone. By gone I mean so far gone it was kind of sad. Where does that kind of pull come from? Something in the water in Latvia I guess. Surprise of the day was Feilds pedaling his little kid heart out on some super hype for the 3rd behind Willoughby. Youngest kid to ever podium at a SX? I'm sure we'll be hearing all about it for some time.

I owe a lot of people for really working hard to get me out there last night despite my injury: Doug Thralls for my spin program to keep me in shape, the entire OTC Sports Med crew esp Reiko for making me 8 splints before I found one I could ride in, Craig at SD Hyperbaric, Witt in the gym, and PH for the ever constant support on the track. Thanks guys, couldn't have done it without you.

Off to Vegas for interbike this week and Frejus the week after.

Good job at the race Arielle. I don't see you much at the regular nationals anymore but it's cool watching you air up the jumps on the SX track.
