UK pop-punkers Buck Brothers are set to blow the UK student scene apart with the release of their debut single ‘Girls, Skirts, Boots, Bikes’ on 4 December through Back2Forward Records. The digital-only release will see the band unleash their infectious blend of punk rock riffage, power pop melodies and Brother Andy’s inimitable vocals on the unsuspecting UK college freshers and will follow the success of the band’s US college radio campaign. The recipe is simple – annoyingly catchy, refreshingly bombastic with a hook big enough to catch a whale.
Having already conquered the States and Canada, winning several awards and taking over college radio, Buck Brothers were approached by the mighty MTV who licensed their entire debut album, ‘Me’ (which is currently unreleased in the UK), for the soundtrack to the next ‘My Super Sweet 16’ series. Viewers in the UK will start hearing the band in 2007, just in time for the official release of the album over here. The Bucks suffered the wrath of the US Homeland Security this year when they were deported back to the UK on the eve of their first major US tour for having the wring visas (well, not having visas at all). The band and management are currently in discussions with the US government about rectifying the situation.
The Bucks can also boast an impressive list of fans including none-other-than Daniel ‘Harry Potter’ Radcliffe, who was quoted on his MySpace page saying that “Buck Brothers are my new favourite.â€Â
