The World Cup (Sun, 21 Sep 2008 Posted at 08:00:00 AM)
The first World Cup of the season was a good example of boardercross. Filled with intensity, excitement, dissapointment and success. I finished 16th, making the qualification on the first day and moving onto heat races the next. My first heat was an american cluster of Lindsey Jacobellis, Brook Shaw and I going head to head along side a girl from the Netherlands. The heat was going well for me as I trailed Lindsey through half of the course, remaining in second, until the begining of a series of jumps where I landed hard and compressed my knee. This took me out of the prospect of advancing. The good news is that my knee is showing some serious improvement since a week ago when it happened. Since then I've flown to San Francisco to attend the Stone Clinic Women's Conference. So read my next blog for a recap of the inspiration and magic that came out of this amazing group of female athletes and women gathering for a common goal. I write this in the airport on my way home and thinking back on these last few weeks of insane travel, insane fun, and insane inspiration really makes me thankful to be on this earth experiencing it all!
