When I am at home I ride vert at the Woodward Skatepark of Denver. The park treats me very well, letting me ride for free and whenever I want to. I try to do what I can to help out the park. One of the things I do is change the light bulbs which are too high to access with a ladder. My friend Rick Mayer helps as well. He is the oldest vert rider I know. At 44, he is even older than Dennis McCoy!
Changing the lights helps the skatepark save money. If they paid to have it done it would be an expensive job. We use ropes to climb up into the rafters. Rick is employed as a tree climber and I do alot of ice and rock climbing so we have the necessary skills. Even though it is work we have fun doing it and Rick benefits with free sessions as well. Check the pics to see how high we have to climb. It's a serious job!
