Lots of racing going on this weekend with the NBL Grands, ABA National in Reno, and the MTB World Championships in Australia. I stayed up to watch the 4X finals Friday night on Freecaster but the live feed wasn't working so I had to hit refresh on the UCI's live times page to see who moved on from each round. A few BMXers were in the mix this year - Willoughby, Madil, Leigh, Graf, Alvarez, Seydoux, Prokop, along with the guys who come over to BMX every now and then like Graves and Slavik. The track made for some good racing, every corner had multiple options and all the riders were taking advantage of them. Lots of guys went out in the early rounds but at least the fastest guy won this year, Graves. Here are the results:
Elite Men:
1) Jared Graves (AUS)
2) Romain Saladini (FRA)
3) Jakub Riha (CZE)
4) Rafael De Lara Alvarez (ESP)
5) Tomas Slavik (CZE)
6) Joost Wichman (NED)
Elite Women:
1) Caroline Buchanan (AUS)
2) Jill Kintner (USA)
3) Melissa Buhl (USA)
4) Anita Molcik (AUT)
5) Anneke Beerten (NED)
Downhill Finals were on last night and that was really good to watch. All the guys are stepping it up so much, that sports on another level now. Cool seeing everything they are doing to their bikes, and it for sure helps with the top four riders are all within .84 seconds on a 2.5 minute course. The difference between first and second was only .005! Here are the DH Results:
