When I start my calender at the beginning of each year there are two events listed before anything else. Winter X Games and Summer X Games. It's my version of Disney World, where athletes make the impossible a reality. Every year I am shocked, scared and thrilled by each event. I've been there for so many history making moments! Travis Pastrana's double back-flip, Brian Deegan's 360, All of Shaun White's gold medals, Jake Browns Crash, followed by Danny Ways the following year. I haven't missed a moto best trick since the event was thought up. I love the X Games, even though sometimes I can't watch until the reply plays on the Jumbotron. This year was no exception. Skateboard Big Air and Moto Best Trick have gotten totally out of control! I'm the one that watches with my hands over my eyes with a little window to take a peak between my fingers. This year there were tons of crashes. These events are over so quickly that everyone goes for broke. The mentality seems to have become "Yeah but what IF I land it?" instead of "What WILL I land?" I found myself watching best trick this year waiting for someone to be carted off to the hospital. It's not fun to watch people get hurt. That's why I think it's so cool to whatch the X-Games evolve. We push it to the limit every year, and slowly figure out where that limit is. I think we have found it in Moto Best Trick and Skateboard Big Air. So what's next? Sports like Skate halfpipe, street skate, Motocross, Rally, Freestyle Moto, and BMX park, and pipe. The events that are the Staple of Summer X are also the future of Summer X. They are the events that anyone can enjoy watching or trying themselves! X-Games 3-D the Movie did a great job of demonstrating where our sports have come from, and where they are headed. I checked out the Premier during the Games. The glasses were goofy, but the movie was incredible. Check it out if you get the chance!
