Contintental Airlines bad for surfers
|
For all you traveling surfers out there...beware! I have traveled on almost every airlines and country and this was the worst day.
I will save you the ugly details but will pass on the information to you for your knowledge.
If you are a surfer and you are flying Contintental Airlines be prepared to pay lots for boards. I almost had to pay $700 for four boards in one bag to get from LAX, a connection in Houstan, Tx, and final destination Costa Rica.
Here are the details...
Contintental Airlines Fees:
1 boardbag with 2 surfboards = $100.00
1 boardbag wtih 4 surfboards = $700.00 (ridiculous!!!!)
BUT...
If you do two separate boardbags with 2 board in each bag then you only pay $200.00. It makes no sense to me. I had the ugliest check in I have ever had with any person. I had two females telling me "NO" and one male saying ok. Let's just say it was a total rip off and if you can avoid this problem do so. Either travel with only two boards, don't go Continental, or be prepared to spend a lot of money.
Good Luck!
