This week is the vans pier classic 2 star wqs at huntington beach. My buddies matt keenan and Ian Bloch flew out for the event from New Jersey and are staying at my house in san clemente. They are stoked to be out here in the warm weather. Jersey has seen one of its coldest winters this year. It has been gnarly over there. We went up for Ian's heat yesterday and he had a tough one and didn't make the advancement. Matt did great today and won his heat with a sweet backside air on his first wave.  Im up tomorrow for my first heat. hoping to get some good waves and have fun. We surfed lowers tonight with just a few guys out it was really fun.
