The Boardlords began in 2000 in Port Chester, NY “the armpit of Westchester County”. The original members, Steve “M.C. Rice” Moy and Daniel “Mr. Furious” Walsh grew up together listening to punk rock and going to shows in the the City and were regulars at the legendary Anthrax in CT. The idea was to write, record and perform songs to shred to in the spirit of true rebel music. Since recording their self titled debut album, the Boardlords have been coined “the hardest working punk band“ in their area by other local musicians, and have performed at such venues as CBGB, The Continental, Arlene's Grocery, Trash Bar (Brooklyn), Summer X-Games in Philadelphia, Skatopia in Ohio, The U.S. Open of Snowboarding, Stratton, VT, Winter X-Games, Mt. Snow, VT, Snow Sports Industry Trade Show, Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, NV, Suburbia Roller Girls Season Opener, Yonkers, NY and a nine-stop tour of Northern and Southern California and Heavenly, Nevada.
For the past nine years with over 100 shows, The Boardlords have performed with countless acts including Agent Orange, DI, McRAD, Big World, Gang Green, 76% Uncertain, Killing Time, Skatanic Rednecks, Valient Thor, and Sub-Zero.
Their 3 self-produced full-length albums, "The Boardlords", "Ride Again" and "Wax Museum" have been licensed to MTV2 "HeadBanger's Ball" and "Rob & Big" as well as Fusion TV, Go211, and the Resort Sport network's "Steezin TV” and have sold over 3000 copies.
In addition to their music, The Boardlords have also been writing, acting, and directing. They have three full-length MOCumentaries, videos for their songs, and several shorts including the epic drama of how the band kicked the first guitar player out (in Spanish) and parodied Raiders of the Lost Ark and “Punk My Ride.”
The latest album, Wax Museum is a collaboration of tracks written by all of the members and, as a result, has a broad spectrum of styles, rhythm and energy – all of which remain true to their high speed, high energy, ripping guitar lines, shout out the chorus and toast to life theme that has been exuberating from The Boardlords for nearly a decade. Wax Museum (Volatile Records, Port Chester, NY) in stores now, and online.
