HIT BAND BOYS LIKE GIRLS TO HEADLINE VERIZON WIRELESS MUSIC STAGE AT ORLANDO’S PLAYSTATION PRO NEW YORK – September 18, 2008 – The AST Dew Tour today announced that alternative band Boys Like Girls will headline the Verizon Wireless music stage on Friday, Oct. 17 at the fifth and final stop of the 2008 AST Dew Tour, Orlando’s PlayStation Pro. Hailing from Taunton, Mass., Boys Like Girls gained international fame with their debut and self-titled album featuring hit songs “The Great Escape” and “Hero/Heroine.” The group’s spellbinding video for “The Great Escape” was voted No. 1 on MTV’s “TRL” a remarkable nine times in 2007. That same year, Boys Like Girls earned Spin.com’s coveted “Artist of the Year” honors with an impressive 68 percent of the votes. “Boys Like Girls is a great fit for the Dew Tour and the fans in Orlando,” said Wade Martin, AST President. “With their hit songs and the tremendous energy they bring to the stage, Friday night’s concert is sure to be a highlight of the weekend.” “We’re really excited to be performing at the Dew Tour,” said Martin Johnson, singer and guitarist for Boys Like Girls. “The fans in Orlando are some of the best in the country.” Currently in its fourth year, the AST Dew Tour is the most watched and attended action sports property in the world. Attendance for the 2007 AST Dew Tour totaled 280,000 and an average of 41 million viewers tuned in via NBC and USA each year. The top athletes in the world will take part in this year’s Tour, all competing for the highly coveted Dew Cup that will be awarded in Orlando at season’s end to champions in each of the six disciplines. The 2007 Dew Cup winners include Nate Adams (Freestyle Motocross), Jamie Bestwick (BMX Vert), Ryan Nyquist (BMX Dirt), Daniel Dhers (BMX Park), Shaun White (Skateboard Vert) and Ryan Sheckler (Skateboard Park).
