Rip Curl is happy to announce that Dusty Skellett, part of the Rip Curl family, achieved television’s most prestigious honor by earning an Emmy for his weekly surf culture segment Scratching the SURFace. With new segments airing every Friday morning on San Diego 6 and online at www.sandiego6.com/surf, the show has proven to be a success in only its first full year.
Dusty has taken the segments to new heights finding relevant stories of San Diego locals and local companies then passing on the message to the community. People have come to relate to what Dusty is doing and enjoy the stoke he brings to round out the week.
“The Emmy was a huge surprise and I am so honored to get it after such a short time”, Dusty says. “Fins (of Furl TV) got this same award last year and I am just stoked to have surpassed them this time around.”
Dusty will continue to kill it behind the camera and in the water so stay tuned to www.ripcurl.com and www.sandiego6.com/surf for upcoming features from Dusty and Scratching the SURFAce.
