Soooo..... This is a bit awkward, since i haven't written anything in a while. So here it goes. Since my last masterpiece of an entry a lot has been going on. Since VT, which was in March, I've been back home mostly in CO. The end of the season is a time where I like to try and get as much done in the spring as possible. From filming, to photos, to design and the whole she-bang! So i've spent a LOT of time out on my snowmobile building and hitting jumps out in the CO backcountry! I've probably been out 20 times on my sled since being back from VT. So it's been a lot of fun getting out and hitting stuff not in the park or pipe.
Also We had our annual SIMS team photo shoot in the beginning of April. This was great! We really lucked out with the weather, as it can be pretty unpredictable out in CO in the spring. We were on snow for 5 days straight from 9 am to 6 pm most days. As you can imagine that gets pretty tiring for a whole week! At the shoot was the entire SIMS team, consisting of myself, Colin Langlois, James Frederick, Gaetan Chanut, Erich Dummer, And Leslie Glenn. We spent one day at ECHO Mountain which was pretty cool, they really tried to make some creative stuff for us to hit and was a great day while we were there! Mostly, we were at Winter Park, where they built us an gigantic double sided hip jump which was amazing to hit. We also found a bunch of stuff around the resort to hit as well. I think the shoot went very well, and hopefully some good things will come out of it this year! I wish I could show you some of the photos from the week, but I don't think I'm allowed yet. Maybe soon though.
After that crazy week of shooting I took a few days of much needed rest and just hung around town for a few days. Okay, it was pretty much a week off! ha. Then I got a call from Frank wells, who had built the biggest quarter pipe EVER at Copper mountain for an end of the year photo shoot session. This was the most massive block of snow I've ever seen in my life. From the bottom of the transition to the top of the lip it was probably 36 feet! So if you've ever seen The Arctic Challenge QP and thought it was the biggest, keep in mind that it's only 33 feet tall! CRAZY, I know. I had the pleasure to hit it with some bros from Breck, which included Chad Otterstrom, James Frederick, Erich Dummer, and CJ Marsh. Unfortunately it was a pretty windy day so we weren't able to really send it and try to get that 10 meter mark. But it's still all in tact and will be able to hit it again in the next few days, so hopefully there'll be a day with some less wind.
Finally, I just went to my first baseball game of the year in Denver the other night. It was AWESOME! The Rockies sucked big time, but was just nice being outside at night, and not have to wear a puffy coat! So it was a really fun time and can't wait to do it again this summer! And lastly i filled up my CHEVY AVALANCHE FLEX FUEL TRUCK WITH THE E85 FUEL FOR THE FIRST TIME! IT'S SOOOOO CHEAP!!!!!!!!!! K, bye.
