Hey there people. So I was just down in Central America, Costa Rica for the wonderful Gretchen Bleiler's wedding! I was there with my girlfriend for a week and it was the BEST TRIP EVER! We had no idea what to expect going in and just had the most amazing time. Gretchen just had to have the perfect wedding... And lucky for her, it was! She married Chris Hotell, who works for Oakley and is an amazing guy. Both families were amazing people and all of the friends got along great!
Tricia (my girlfriend) and I went to this National Park called Manuel Antonio, which is just North of where we stayed in Dominical. The National Park was in a town called Quepos. I would recommend anyone who travels to Costa Rica to check this place out! We saw monkeys, sloths, crazy birds, lizards, crabs, and the list goes on and on. It also pretty much had the best beach on the entire west coast I think. White sands, volcanic rock, bright blue water, this place was just something out of a movie! Enjoy the photos.
Now for the surfing! The waves were a great size for beginners. This made it so fun, because pretty much everyone who attended the wedding was out surfing every day! Great times hanging with everyone in the water! However the beach we went to was called Dominicalito, which was the smaller break. The other beach, Playa Dominical, however was a different story. The waves were much quicker and bigger for a more advanced surfer. All in all though an amazing place to surf! I highly recommend this destination if you enjoy a few or all days surfing!
The wedding... eh was okay. SIKE! It was a great ceremony! They had it on the beach, at sunset. How perfect, right? Here's the best part... Gretchen rode in on a white horse, in her dress! HA. Crazy right. well, we all had a good laugh as she rode in to the ceremony! But the reception, this was what truly blew me away! They rented this amazing house in the jungle, overlooking the coast and was probably the coolest house i've ever been in. The entire place was pretty much open, since Costa Rica is so hot! Just an amazing day all around. Anyway, I'll let these photos do the talking for me... Hope you enjoy our trip! ha.
