Wow what a trip. I went to Spain feeling good and came home with a concussion and smashed face. In my second moto on Saturday night I got loose over the second jump into the first corner and from what I can tell from the video I saw I came into contact with a guy on the inside and basically rode on his back which threw me past the landing at a crazy angle and I slammed my face into the berm. I don't remember the impact but seeing crash on film was chilling to me. I'm thankful my injuries were not more severe. I want to thank my USA teammates for again taking care of me and especially Javier Columbo as he rode in the ambulance with me and stayed at the hospital with me to translate and make sure I was okay.
Also congrats to the USA team for getting 4 guys in the main and to Steven Cisar for the podium finish. Well I should know in a couple days if I broke anything in my face....I have a feeling something cracked, my nose is slightly curved and my cheek hurts like crazy.
Wednesday afternoon my wife and I are planning to go to TN to adopt another little boy. He was born on Jan 29 so we are excited. Everything looks good, but nothing is for sure till we bring him home. RS
